View down the fourth ramp section with the platform 2 Safety Zone at the end.
The ramp to platform 2 leads to a point near the front of the train.
Note: on metropolitan trains in Melbourne, a train driver will only deploy
a boarding ramp at the first door of the first carriage.

Mitcham Station March 2014
Looking across the tracks from platform 2 to the back end of platform 1 showing
the four switchback sections of ramp leading from the concourse above to the platform. Notice the ramp leads to where the rear of the train will be, meaning that a wheelchair
or scooter user will have to travel the whole length of platform 1 to get to the front
of the train.

Mitcham Station March 2014
View from same spot as the photo on left, but looking towards the city and
the back end of platform 2 and front end of platform 1.
It's a long way from the platform 1 ramp (out of picture on the left) to the
front end of the platform (off in the distance).

Mitcham Station March 2014

Level entry from platform to train along the entire length, although at this stage
the rubber strip that fills the horizontal gap is only fitted to the area around
the first door of the train.

Mitcham Station March 2014
Only a relatively small amount of work would be required to provide
roll-on, roll-off access to every door along a train.

There are Hearing Loop signs at the front end of each platform.
